Abdelrahman Astro


Astro is a Telco RnD engineer from Giza, Egypt. Currently, he is working at the Interdisciplinary centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT) in leading the development of the RnD activities in the spectrum of 5G and beyond for Terrestrial/Non-Terrestrial networks with support to EU organisations and partners such as OSA, 3GPP, SES Luxembourg, Proximus, LSA (Luxembourg Space Agency), and ESA (European Space Agency) among many. In the past, he worked as an RnD engineer to support in national projects funded by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority in Egypt. After he Joined PERCRO lab in Pisa, Italy to work on developing a radar solution for railway inspections. He recieved his B.Sc. Degree (distinction with honor) in Electrical Engineering from the Canadian International College in 2017 with the thesis titled Cognitive Radio Network that was developed with Virginia tech, USA to develop spectrum coexistence solutions using software-defined radio. Astro's research interest includes Wireless communications, Software Defined Radios (SDRs), Blockchain, IoT, and real-time system

Open for volunteering and contributing to any project revolves around the sustainable development. For instance, celluler based open-source solution with focus possible non-profit implementation in rural and remote areas under the umbrella of UN for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Furthermore, any work supporting UN agenda for SDGs. I will be glad to serve, share and support.
